60’s Carnaby Street Party
Sunday, October 31 at 6 PM on the Pool Deck
Join us for a not so typical Halloween Party! The groovy mood of 1960’s Carnaby Street is coming to VI along with Across the Universe a Beatles tribute Band.
‘Dress up the way we were – or dress down the way we are.’ Anything goes – it’s the 60’s! 
We have partnered with Giovanni's Food Truck including a bar! The Food truck will be parked by the south pool entrance, and a full bar will be placed in the courtyard on the pool deck.
Please note that this event was moved outside to the pool deck and attendance is limited to 200 residents. To attend, purchase a $16 ticket (plus a $0.75 cc fee or $0.51 bank transfer fee) here on the website in Event Registration located on the bottom left-hand corner of the home page. 
A $16 ticket covers a $6 bar voucher and a $10 food truck voucher. All menu items are $10 whether it be food or dessert.

The $6 bar voucher covers soda, wine and beer. These vouchers can also be used as “down payment” on the cocktails/mix drinks or more food/dessert. Those would be as follows:
Beer, wine, Prosecco and soda $6
Single Mix Drink - $8
Single Premium Mix Drink - $10
Dbl Mix Drink Regular - $14
Dbl Mix Drink Premium - $16
NO BYOB will be allowed at this event.
CDC Guidelines must be adhered to by all participants.
Admission to the pool is reserved for ticket holders only who will be given a wristband for entry.

Recreation Committee Outdoor Sports Activity Day
The Recreation Committee is sponsoring an outdoor sports activity day on November 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come out with your friends or by yourself and try some or all of the outdoor activities Valencia Isles has to offer. Please note Pickleball Court 1 will be available until 12:00 noon. Pickleball on Court 2 will be available until 1:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please call Linda Zweigman at 561-389-2742.

Bob Barnes and Bay Roots Band are back with their their Reggae, Calypso and Caribbean signature sound.
Join us at the pool deck in your best tropical outfit. We will have slushie machines ready for your BYOB of Rum, Tequila or Vodka, snacks and water will also be available. Please remember no glass at the pool! At the Clubhouse Pool.

Great Musical Moments II: The Hollywood Musical from the 1950s to the Present by Dan Hudak

With the era of the Hollywood musicals complete, the mid-1950s saw a shift in production. No longer were song and dance sequences stuck inside a studio; now musicals were shooting on location with bigger budgets, which allowed the genre to get bolder, more experimental, and in some cases, more satisfying. But like many good things, it didn’t last. Clips and images from the greatest musicals of all time will be featured in this hour-long presentation that covers great changes both in the genre and the industry itself.
Turnstiles - A Billy Joel Tribute

Never intending to be an impersonator, Tony’s voice just naturally resembles Billy’s. Combining that with his ability at the piano and a world class band, you will actually feel this band’s love and commitment to the music. Witnessing them create a faithful, totally live Billy Joel concert experience is something that you won’t soon forget! Turnstiles has toured extensively and continues to perform nationally and internationally for 10’s of thousands of enthusiastic Fans of The Piano Man. This show simply put, rocks the house and never disappoints! Turnstiles’ performance is high energy and thrives on audience participation. They faithfully recreate Billy's classics with a passion that will surely move the casual listener as well as the hard core "Joel fan" to their feet, singing along with all the classics!

It’s party time with the Shane Duncan Band - you may remember them from our Grand Opening Celebration Party in January 2020, so get on your dancing shoes! A three-course menu will be served by the Bistro, including free wine and champagne. The food will be served family style. Dress code: Semi-Formal (no shorts/jeans, t-shirts).
$115 pp. Make a table of 8-12 people and submit on a form with complete payment.

Journey into this year’s Best Picture Oscar nominees in this discussion of why each film was nominated and which is the odds-on favorite to emerge victorious. Clips and background information about all nominated films will be shared, and a discussion of the Academy’s voting process and habits will lend perspective to choosing the likely winner. Oscar history, trivia, and other major categories will also be covered! It’s a lively, insightful and fun hour-long presentation that’s not to be missed! Attendees are encouraged to see as many of the nominated films as possible before the presentation.
The next Oscar ceremony will be held Feb. 27, 2022; nominations will be announced mid-January.
